September is still summer in the Bay Area but it can range from foggy and cool (50's) to sunny and hot (90's) over a couple of days and over 20 degrees in the same day. Pack and dress appropriately! Bring enough warm and cool clothing.

Car Rental

The wedding venue is accessible using AC Transit so a rental car is not required. However, it may be recommended depending on where you choose to stay/your comfort with Oakland bus transportation. Public Transportation

For the most part sight seeing in San Francisco, Oakland and Berkeley doesn't require a car. It takes about a half hour and $3 to get to downtown SF from Oakland on the Bay Area Rapid Transit (BART) and most of SF is easily accessible via public transportation. A car is advised for more thorough exploration of the area.

Airports

Oakland International Airport (OAK)

Expect to spend about 45 minutes to an hour to get to/from the airport using public transit. The drive is 20-30 minutes. This smaller airport enables you to spend less time in the airport but may not have many direct flights.

San Francisco International Airport (SFO)

Expect to spend about 30 minutes to get to SF and 2 hours to get to Oakland on public transportation. The drive to Oakland is about 30 minutes in light traffic.

San Jose International Airport (SJC)

This airport is an hour away by car and there is no public transportation access.
